only way to get that type of time in the pocket (with this o-line) is play action - but we were in shotgun the entire second half trying to alleviate the blitz - no time for deep routes

Drew Petzing is wearing sweat pants on the sideline. It would be a better question for Kyler.
Are you suggesting deep throws are being called but KM is changing the play, going to the 2nd receiver, or just doesn’t want to?

A Wr can run 40 yards in 4.5 seconds. To get him the ball you’d have to release it just under 3 seconds to get the ball that far downfield.
It can be done.

To me... this looked just like we did to start last season with Josh Dobbs...

I'm thinking Petzing suxx at evaluating his players abilities so he starts the season off all conservative and calls a more open game as he builds confidence in what his pieces can do.

5.2 ypa
Sounds like a kyler stat. But each play has a progression...and we were being pressured...so kyler pitched it to the guys who were open early in the progression...it's not like he spent all game surveying the field and after 6 seconds dumped it to an outlet.

Some of the blame lands on kyler...but JG needs to drop a deuce on petzings skull...then point out that's what it feels like when your staff ***** on you.. that entire game plan was just ugly substandard garbage

so just hike it and launch it - no routes or double moves - and the receiver is expected to run a combine 40 under a defender

idk homie

Basically yes.
You don't throw 40 yards... but when you have a 6'4 guy with hands...toss that back shoulder pass to the sidelines and let Marv beat his man... otherwise why the hell waste the draft pick when there were good OT's on the board?

he described a 3 second drop back sprint

you're drawing up a fade play which can actually happen in 3 seconds but it's not a deep shot

My point is a can be done without needed 6 seconds in the pocket. You can roll the pocket too. But hey, let’s continue to dink and dunk as defense get closer and closer.

the dink and dunk got us a 17-3 lead and that was when buffalo wasn't bringing the house - we couldn't even do the dink and dunk in the second half once the blitz came

i like taking deep shots too - keeps safeties honest and can put pints on the board quickly

Buffalos defense was so tight on us at times it almost looked like Buddy Ryan was calling their plays

I think Kyler throws to the routes he wants to
If you're an optimist this is just a function of not playing in the preseason with still relatively new guys. "Presesason game" under his belt and now he can play loose.

If you're a pessimist then Kyler has reached Derek Carr on the Raiders status of just not wanting to mess things up.

Man...sucks if true. We've seen the NFL gooble up a number of promising young QBs over the years, and spit them out with no confidence.

Yep.

Trevor Lawrence and the Jags is a situation to watch the next few years.

Again hopefully its just a preseason thing cause we've heard how good this passing attack was in camp. Too bad we couldnt get the Commanders next week as a get right game.

And even though the Rams are really beat up, I fully expect them to come out and punish the Cardinals after losing a close game to a good team.
