The Cardinals have sent the message that losing (albeit in the SB) will not be accepted. How many teams would have fired their DC after getting to the SB? The answer - not many. I am so proud of this organization right now. Pendy is not a horrible DC, but he doesn't fit into the Cardinal system that Whiz adheres to. Kudos to Cardinal Management.

Pendy was not a horrible DC. Worse than horrible, he was inconsistent. One week our defense would look awesome. Playing out their minds, coming up with big plays and making a difference in the game. The next week, they'd allow a second string QB to torch us. This is because of scheming. I wonder if some of the players went to Whiz and told them that they wanted some new blood. Inconsistency has been our defenses problem since Clancy was here. Remember how great we all thought he was the first couple weeks of Dennys first year? Holding the Falcons to 6 points or whatever it was? Then later in the season, we got torched for 30+ several times and we wondered what happened. Well there is your answer.

OT: Fun science fact!

The Brontosaurus is now called the Apatosaurus, it turned out that a paleontologist mis-identified two dinosaurs as different genus' when they were the same (some dude accidentally swapped skulls).

Whisenhunt still has sauropod-grade reproductives, but I agree, it's a statement of continual improvement.

Haven't teams fired their HEAD coach after losing the Super Bowl? Dallas comes to mind.

There's no correlation between scientific trivia and sex. And I'm sure a girl's never turned a guy down because he was too smart.

An example of blindly following the naming conventions being a bad idea. One word was part of the vocabulary of millions, one obscure. Both were based on incomplete and/or erroneous work by O.C. Marsh. And sadly, the official name's meaning is crappy, while the other name is awesome.

Besides, the names should be considered synonymous. It's not really a mistake to refer to the animal as Brontosaurus; it's more along the lines of an unofficial but highly recognizable nickname. There's really no need to correct people.

I don't think so. Definitely not Dallas. The only Dallas coach to lose a Super Bowl was Tom Landry, and he didn't get fired for 10 years after the last one.

It was certainly how I rationalized it in my younger days...:)

Wonder if Whiz would have fired him if they would have won the Super Bowl? I think he might have, seemed to be friction there.
