Boston gets: Chucky Atkins, Lindsey Hunter and the Pistons first round pick this year.

Boston traded Mike James and expiring contracts....

We could not have gotten those expiring contracts for Eisley and those 2 picks or New Yorks pick this year?

Eisley makes a 1-2 million more than Atkins over the same time.

Lindsey Hunter and Chucky Atkins are both better point guards and Howard Eiseley. In fact they are both quite a bit better. I still think it is it bad trade for Boston, but it would have been worse to take Howard Eiseley.

BTW Howard Eiseley will make $4.6 million more than Atkins over the last two years of their contracts.

But

-They help out a rival even in the long term
-Detroits first round pick will be much worse than the Knicks

Plus since we are trading multiple picks to get rid off Googs we could have just included one of those also.

The Associated Press' article about our trade makes no mention of first round picks.

If it's just a straight 2 for 1 without picks, (which is hard to believe) then it will be a steal for us.

Slin, for whatever reason the Celtics were obviously not willing to make bad deal. Otherwise the Colangelos surely would have done it. I mean certainly you can't believe that they would have turned down a deal like that to get rid of Howard Eiseley's contract. You know they've been communicating with Danny Ainge given his relationship with this organization. I wouldn't be surprised if the Phoenix Suns offered it to future draft picks (if in fact that is what they have actually traded to Utah) and New York's pick this season to get rid of Eisley.

It's going to take A LOT to dump Howard Eiseley. I would not count on it happening anytime soon. He's scheduled to make $13.7 million in the two seasons following this one, and he might be worth about $3 million.

What is Clark's current status? Is he on the legitimate or "back spasm" IL?
