this team is very confusing to me when you look at the numbers. i haven't seen anything like it before.

-top 5 in total defense (yards allowed, points allowed)
-top 10 in total offense (yards gained, points scored)
-top 5 in rushing offense
-top 5 in turnovers (+4)

and somehow a .500 team. it's actually hard to do that!

it has been some of the most frustrating football i've ever seen in 25+ years. if you had to tell the headlines of the season, it would have to be
-david johnson
-choke under pressure
-special teams

on the positive side, that 'defense in 3rd down' situation sure has been cleaned up :)

It's like the complete opposite of when Skelton played like crap for 3.5 quarters, pulled out a miracle win and they team managed to be .500. Well, opposite except for the record part.

Stats are for losers. Winners finish & don't make the critical mistakes over & over & over like the 2016 Cardinals!

Still think this team is Top 3 in talent and will eventually bring it all together. If we win in Carolina and are 4-3-1, we could rally off a few during the 2nd half of the season and still get the Wild Card.

I don't know. I think Palmer's drop off from MVP level to mediocre and John Brown's loss and Badger just not being close to Badger knock us from top 3 talent level at this point.

Don't get me wrong, there's still a LOT of talent, but if we don't have a QB/O-line who can facilitate it for...

Eh, my. Rain hurts.

Hope you're right.

I remember in 2010, the Chargers were #1 in the league in most yards for offense and #1 in the league in least yards given up on defense....and guess what? They missed playoffs and it wasn't even close.

Stats mean nothing. Only numbers that matter are the score at the end and the record of the team.

Yup...even back in 1998, when the Cards needed to beat a 1 win Chargers team to make the playoffs...That Chargers team had the #1 defense, coming into that game.
