I just saw this for the first time on MGM-HD. This might be the best movie ever. Unreal skate flick from the 80's. The music is so bad its amazing. Kameos by Tony Hawk, Steve Caballero, Tont Alva, and the murderer Gator. The main guy is the big bro from Goonies. The skating is so dated. Instead of pulling an ollie, they just jimp off objects with their feet. Awesome in HD. If you have Directv you need to DVR this.

Wow, this sounds really familiar. I bet I saw this one as a kid. I'll have to watch it.

It's called a boneless, and as much as the boards/wheels/trucks weighed back then, you'd have to make a grab as well. ;) The boards were barely concaved back then as well. (I'm not showing my age at all am I?)

Totally rad movie BTW!

1980s skate/ karate movies all follow a common formula.

Nerd/ Poor/ outsider moves into a new area.

Popular/ Rich/ Badass club or gang doesn't like the new kid.

New kid dates head honcho's girl/ sister from badass club/ gang.

Fights.

Competition where underdog wins and the badass declares "Larusso, you're alright."

Thrashin' follows the formula to a T. I love it.

Recently watched it. Totally rad movie. I love the terminology of the 80's. "You're dead meat", great stuff. This was a great trip down memory lane. I was more of a bmx'r than a skater, but it was close enough.
