With nine weeks to go before the April 8 home opener, the San Diego Padres have sold more than one-third of the 3.4 million seats available for Petco Park's inaugural season. The Padres have sold 17,000 "full-season equivalent" season ticket packages. A full-season equivalent is equal to four seats sold for a 20-game plan. "Our initial projection was 17,500 to 18,000 season tickets, so we are extremely pleased to be trending well ahead of that pace," said Steve Violetta, the Padres' executive vice president of business operations.
