- The Cards are interested in a vet QB specifically Bulger, Kolb, and on the outside looking in Orton.

- The Breaston situation will depend on his demands and on his health. A lot of the FAs that they want to keep will likely be resolved after the CBA situation is resolved - evidently they are quite scared of the situation

- They want an impact player in the draft (at least for the first round) and aren't all that high on Mallett or Newton. His sources didn't mention how they felt on Gabbert

- To be more precise the Cards are looking for a defensive impact player and the player that are currently infatuated with...

some people aren't going to like this

Robert Quinn

This was all from Bickley and MJ's show today so take it FWIW

I think that since we're sticking with a 3-4 if we draft Quinn and get someone like Kevin Greene as DC we'll see a big improvement in the defense next year.

On the bright side if Luck goes back to school then next year we could potentially have a shot at Luck, Matt Barkley or Landry Jones. There's always a silver lining........right?

I have never seen Quinn play --so who knows

I just find it interesting that even after a year sitting on the sidelines -- he is ranked in the top 10 or so. It speaks to his potential.

My feelings exactly.

2007 Bulger 58% 11 TDs 15 INTs 6.3 YPA
2008 Bulger 57% 11 TDs 13 INTs 6.2 YPA
2009 Bulger 56% 5 TDs 6 INTs 5.9 YPA
17 total fumbles during that time too.

Thats is a lot to get excited about. I will question this staff's sanity if they bring him in as our starter. He is not exactly a durable guy either...One 16 game season in his career, and at 34 when the season starts I doubt he will all of sudden get more durable.

Breaston won't be a Redbird in 2011, write it down!!!

If Bulger is brought in to be the QB with Skelton backing him up, then this staff really is clueless and has not learned a damn thing from this season. To be honest I would be shocked if Wiz didn't bring Bulger to the Cardinals.

I'm good with Skelton as our backup. He's a rookie that well looked like a rookie. Has potential but has things to learn.

Bulger isn't my first choice but its slim pickens when it comes to the vet QB market. They evidently have no interest in McNabb. The Eagles want a first for Kolb and he's not worth #5 overall. Orton is well Orton, decent player who played horribly at the end of the year and has a low ceiling.

amen squared...well just about. Quinn would be an outstanding pick. 1 and 3 for Kolb works for me along with a real OC...yeah I said it...Chilly...even if they decide to take the (gulp) semi-popular route which I don't think is a great idea...DMc. Whoever mentioned Kevin Greene is spot on...really knows the 3/4.

Back into my cave.

I'm really surprised to hear they like Quinn, with his suspension this year. But, if he's that much of a stud, he is what the defense badly needs. We have to get an impact defensive player at #5.

As for the QB, Kolb or Orton would be fine with me. Skelton gets more badly needed time to get his skills up in that case. Bulger would be another train wreck, unless a miracle happens to our offensive line.

Can't do both unless Eagles drop their price tag, which is doubtful

Fitz getting traded will get at least one more #1.

I really believe the Cards will talk to Fitz in the nest 3 weeks & find out where he stands, if a new deal can't be agreed upon (which I don't think will), they will try to trade him during the draft. If that doesn't work he will be unloaded during the season before the deadline. The Cards management has painted themselves into a corner & will try to save face by getting something though I don't like the thought of trading him

Next year's number one would probably be good enough IMO.

Tough to say as the Eagles have an interesting situation themselves. Vick, who is likely to be franchised, has had a problem staying healthy this year and they might want to keep Kolb unless blown away by an offer.

I have heard reports that they were asking for a 1st and a 3rd this year for him but might be talked down to a number one.

Orton is actually more likely as we could probably get him for a 4th and the Broncos are in rebuilding mode so they don't need him as much

Then we'd be taking Green or Julio Jones at #5 because we would be giving up our #1 receiver Fitz (trade) and losing #2 Breaston (FA). In that case, we're even more screwed than we are now and Whiz is a goner

Since when has this team gotten any value from their players other than Boldin? They will probably just let him play out his contract and let him walk for nothing. The sight of Q in another uniform makes me sad, the thought of Fitz in another uniform just sickens me.

I think I agree. Isn't Quinn that stud that will become a 3-4 OLB from North Carolina? I think he'll be a beast.

I'd be cool with Kolb or Orton at QB to go with Skelton too, as long as they don't cost much. I'd like to try and pry Hill away from Detroit too. And *gasp* maybe sign Alex Smith?

Gut feeling, I think Kolb is going to the Dolphins. They'd give up the 15th pick for him

Orton is the most realistic non-FA. I'd rather have him over Bulger

Hill might be on the market depending on how highly they think of Stanton (Stafford's health concerns might make it so they keep both).

Alex Smith is intriguing if we keep the pass, pass, pass offense we run now.

Unfortunately I think we're going with Bulger
