I did a search to find an old thread about this Terry Gilliam film and alas none existed. No one has seen it? It finally made its way to the top of my queue, and I put it in. I expected an Alice in Wonderland type tale based on the reviews i had read and Gilliam didnt disappoint, providing ample foddewr for the imagination. What he did do, was pepper the story with piles and piles of uncomfortable imagery and situations that would make any rational adult squirm.

Even though the situations around her are totally bleak, through the eyes of the main character, a 6 year old little girl, innocence keeps her from the realization of how dangerous and how twisted her existence is. The film challenges you to look at the story through her eyes and find the joys in being young and innocent even though the pre-conceived notions that you would have as an adult would normally keep you from finding any joy in this girls life.

A classic Gilliam film, leaving you with a lot to ponder. I enjoyed it immensely. Jodelle Ferland turned in a brilliant performace and Brendden Fletcher was phenomenal as well.
