Tigers, Verlander agree to 5 years, $80M (AP)

Pitcher Justin Verlander and the Detroit Tigers have agreed to an $80 million, five-year contract, a person familiar with the negotiations told The Associated Press on Wednesday. The person spoke on the condition of anonymity because the deal had not been announced. The person said the contract could be completed as soon as Thursday.
