Let me start by saying this team has a ways to go, however, they made some nice strides in the off-season. Frenando Vina, Ivan Rodriguez, and Rondell White (all off season pick ups) were 6-13 in the opener from the "2", "3", "5" spots, respectively.

It's cool to see the team I grew-up rooting for win.... I have a lot of respect for
Alan Trammell, Kirk Gibson, and co. since they were among my favorite players during my youth..... Wish them nothing but the best of success...except whenever they play against the Dbacks.......

Barring any major injuries, I think the Tigers could be near the AL Central lead come August. At that point I think they'll fade a la 2003 Royals and 2001 Twins.

When I was a kid I used to like the Tigers because I played on the Tigers in pee-wee baseball. Sparky Anderson kicks ass too. But my favorite team was the Brewers before we got the DBacks. I was born outside of Milwaukee, but moved to AZ at age 5. When we traded for Sexson I was happy cuz we got him, but thought we gave up too much in Spivey. Spivey was one of my favorites. If we had to trade him, Im glad it was to my 2nd favorite team at least.

I-Rod is awsome! He singled twice, walked and caught a runner trying to steal.

Not bad to go 5 wins in the first six though!
