It pains me to read the game thread and the absolute hate and grief this guy gets still. He has been outplaying Wells now for 6 weeks straight regardless of the fumble. That is a fact.

Again went out tonight and averaged 8.3 yards per carry to Wells 2.1 he was man handling blitzers all stinking night and allowing Warner the time to make several of those big plays.

May fumble more than we like but then again so does Wells. Im not saying he is better than Wells in this thread. But he certainly doesnt deserve the amount of grief he gets either. No way no how.

Besides the stupid fumble (which was just ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) Tim played well the rest of the game and definitely picked up some blitzes (like one Q's 2nd TD)

Almost agree 100%. Wells has struggled the past 2 weeks, he seems to have lost his vision or confidence. Prior 4 weeks I would say Wells had outplaye THT at least one of those weeks. Picking nits I am.

You cannot start a game like that, period. Sure he picked it up later, but whether it pains you or not, he put the team in a hole. And Wells will develop to be a stud. HT, eh not so much.

Tim killed the second drive as well, w/ his penalty, but his pass-pro was top notch all night.

Whether you like it or not RB's are gonna fumble unfortunately for us BOTH OF OUR have been doing it to much. Crap happens. We hope Well's turns into a stud(I do think he will). As of right now the only RB we have on the roster with at least 2 runs over 35 yards isn't Wells. The RB over the last 6 weeks with the higher YPC by almost a full yard? Hightower my friend!

TH rebounded nicely from the fumble and had some huge runs for us. Great paas blocking including smacking Jared Allen in the mouth.

Loved it.

I agree with Shane, Hightower is playing really well right now and is a big part of why we are winning and our running game is getting better.

Last 6 games these guys have combined for 690+ yards and over 5 yards a carry.

I think Wells will be the better RB in the long run but you can't be unhappy with what we are getting out of Tim right now.

4 fumbles, 3 lost... simply terrible. These are game changers. Lucky for us we survived today's since the offense was so sharp.

He played well rest of the game and I'm glad he has picked up his game. He is was a steal at the 5th round.

No it not a fact TH and Beanie have about the same stats and Beanie hasnt had as much playing time as TH.. In fact Beanie barely saw the field the first 2-3 games..

Beanie will get his, and I hope TH continues to get his. I also hope BOTH hold onto the ball. I'm glad we can still argue after a win though.

Yes it is a fact and I clearly said the last 6 games. In which Beanie has more carries total than Timmy! Reading comprehension my friend ;)

FWIW, you could have driven a semi through the hole from Hightower's long run. Beanie would have gotten at least as many yards and most likely would have scored.

Thats what I keep hearing. But yet Wells has more carries than THT and yet no long runs to show for it.

I know what I see.. And sometimes there are no words for these types of things.. TH is superior in blocking and thats why he gets in the game..

That was pretty damned weak. But I think it got him at least one extra yard :)

Tim had one of the best blitz pick-up games I've seen from a RB in quite a while.

Beanie will have the better career, but I think the coaches are going to keep playing HT, because of his protection skills.

Hopefully, Wells will work on this over the offseason. If he gets to a point where he is half as good as HT was today, I'd only take him out for a breather after a long run.

HT gets a game ball today though. No doubt.

Go Cards!!!

We're lucky to have two good backs when for years we couldn't find even one. Maybe we can avoid the sorts of ******** arguments we had over who was better, Fitz or Boldin, for years in regards to Wells and TH?

Agree and disagree at the same time.

Agree that Hightower gets undue disrespect. He has ran the ball hard, and done great in blitz pickup.

But its almost unfair to compare the stats of the 2 backs. They run almost completely different sets of plays and sometimes different looks and plays are open against different teams. For example. Hightower rarely if ever runs behind a fullback.

I think both of them are playing well and we should be pleased with both.

Totally agree. But you should go see the list of posters that were bagging Timmy in the game thread. The comments that were to the eefect of "im sick of him, get him out of there, Wells should be in full time" etc.... Kind of silly really the way hes playing which is damn well.

You have to realize, Shane, that game threads are spontaneous and emotional reactions to the things happenning at that moment. These are not well thought out or well analyzed comments. Game threads are game threads that should only be visited for the fun of it but not for any serious discussions. I have said many things during the course of a game on the game threads that I laugh at if I ever revisit that thread.

And THT is one tough SOB!!! The guy absoulutely dishes out punishment in nearly every run. Watch the way he finishes runs, when he doesn't dance a little too much. He is a very violent runner who will have a long, under-appreciated NFL career. Luv me some #34.
