Time to trade Nash?

It's been a great run with Steve Nash, but we have ultimately never been able to achieve the ultimate goal with him. As much as fans may hate to say it, perhaps a trade would be in our best interests?

ofcourse its "a good idea" but no it wont happend, Sarver is too concerned about merchandise sales to trade him...

The smart thing for the franchise is to trade him, but sarver is not concerned about the franchise he is concerned about the business and that is why the Suns have thge worst outlook of any team in the NBA

Nash will be retired by the time the lockout is over.

He is not even good about the business. He is a pea-brain who cannot see the forest for the trees.

Nash already played his last game as a Sun. There will be no season this year. This is the first time I have even looked at this board in weeks and I probably won't do so again for months. The NBA is done for now.

Nash is fading in value, but to think of the suns without him, it could be even uglier. Maybe no NBA will be a good thing, cause the suns will stink anyways.

After the end of next season (when ever that is), Nash will come off contract at the same time Carter comes off contract and Petreus comes off contract. In other words, we will be in a position to go seriously into the free agency market. Currently, HoopsHype has the Suns at $28.6 million, http://hoopshype.com/salaries/phoenix.htm. If you adjust for two mid first round picks, and other adjustments, the Suns will still be able to sign at least one top player and have above the MLE available even if they cannot con somebody into taking back some spare people such as Wrrick and Lopez. I don't think they'll move Brooks (or make him available as RFA) unless they could get a shot a big time PG.

IMHO, nobody will trade for Nash except to get his expiring contract. Talent wise, he' not worth more than a late 1st rounder due to his age. Realisticly, the only teams that have interest as a player are deep in the playoffs and their picks suck.

trade him to dallas for nothing....

Nash could very well end up in Dallas for nothing if the NBA season is lost and he becomes a FA. No need for a trade. Dirk and Nash are good friends as you are aware.

I am puzzled by this feeling Nash has no value. He has an expiring contract. I don't know if the Suns should invest much in him right now. He might sign for minimal if it would free up money to get him some horses.

At this point, there might not be a whole season. It's possible Nash could have already played his last game as a sun. At least he won't have the wear and tear of a season, so maybe his trade value/free agent value will be high?

This is not my position... that Nash has no value. However, if the NBA lockout consumes the season, he may very well be able to become a FA as this is his last season under contract.
