I just returned today from a fabulous week in Disney World with the wife and kids and I gotta say, the Cards are movin up. Up until this week, the only time I have ever seen anyone wearing a redbirds jersey in person was when they played the Skins or Ravens and folks from Arizona flew in for the game. This past week, I saw between 15-20 people rockin the red and white and after talking to many of them, I found that most were not from Arizona, but that the Card's fan base is exploding.

Being a fan for over 20 years has taken much of my positivity concerning the organization and it's future out of me. I have tried and tried to remain unexcited about Leinart, Edge and Whiz and co., but I cant do it any more. I really think we are going to do big things this this year.

I'm surprised I didn't see you, I was spottin Card's gear from miles away.

I was actually there during the weekend of the Draft. Missed day two of the draft because we were at the Magic Kingdom that day. Our rental car had Sirius Satellite radio so I was able to hear our fifth round pick right as we got out of the car.

I did see one kid wearing a James jersey but that was it.

Know what you mean Cardsfan. I was a Pearl Jam concerts in Albany, and Hartford and some some guy walking around with a Tillman jersey. Very cool.

Living in York, PA, I have so many friends that are Steeler diehards. After golf league last week, I was sitting at a table of Steeler fans. I was wearing a Cardinal cap & in unison they all said they are rooting hard for the Cardinals this year. The diehards are pissed off that neither Whiz nor Grimm got the Steeler job & feel that the NFL forcefed Mike Tomlin down Rooney's throat.

While I love Tillman and appreciate not only what he did for the Cards and the NFL but for all Americans, dont let the jerseys with his name emblazened upon them fool you. I have seen too many people wearing them who have told me that they aren't Cardinal fans at all, just Tillman fans. To those people I say, you are halfway there.

I'm OK with that. He's a good guy to look up to. As I mentioned a couple of years ago, when I went to a Cards/Raiders preseason game in Oakland, I wore my Tillman jersey and got lots of compliments from Raider fans.

That is very cool. Problem is, that many people wearing our jerseys aren't fans. I've been embarassed too many times to name from people rocking Cards gear, especially here in Philly, and assuming they were family, only for them to say that they were just wearing a jersey. Unless I have real cause to, I don't approach people any more. I mean it'd be one thing if we were Colts or Raiders fans. It's nothing to see people sporting those teams, but I still can't help doing a double take when I see someone wearing ours. Even in AZ, I had trouble coming to grips that there are 100's of thousands of people who love the Cardinals as much as I do.

I am not from Arizona, nor have I ever been to Arizona save for a layover in Phoenix. I do think the Cards are starting to gain popularity outside the state, thanks to Edge and Leinart, and hopefully due to some well-deserved success this next season.

hope they're not selling them at disney....

There was a lot of Cards stuff at the All-Star sports complex at Disney World. My daughters team played in the NFL Flag football girls National Championship there last November and one of the mother's bought a Leinart Jersey for herself and a Cards cap for her son at the sports store in the complex.

EDIT: The Cards sponsor a regional championship and the winners represent the Cardinals at Nationals. It was pretty cool to see all the kids in Cardinals jerseys at the Hotel and at the games.
