elindholm said:yea george didnt have his best night tonight. all he could talk about was defense. what happens when we face a team better then us. i just wanted to ask him if he knew of another team this season that had won more then 62 games? if not keep it down over there because he has never won a championship himself.
Who are you talking about? John Thompson is considered one of the greatest college coaches in history. He has won several championships.
thegrahamcrackr said:No kidding. Out of all the color commentators on every broadcast team, I think Thompson's opinion and insight is a step above everyone else.
Chaplin said:Not tonight it wasn't. He didn't say anything except that we don't play any defense.

Joe Mama said:The problem I have with John Thomson's repetitive complaints about the defense is that you never hear these idiots making similar statements about a team's offense when they only score 85-95 points in a game. The only thing that really matters is the final score. This Memphis team played better defense against the Suns in the regular season and probably any other team in the NBA. They haven't been able to keep Phoenix under 100 points in the first couple games.

When the Suns win it all, he's going to be eating his words. "They are a good team but not a great team." Guess it depends on your definition of great, but a 62 game winner is usually pretty damn great. Sorry, just blowing off some steam.
