When Todd Haley is fired in Kansas City, should the Cardinals bring him back as offensive coordinator?

I guess what I'm really curious about is whether the Cardinals 2-year run of excellence, fueled largely by the dynamic offense, was all because of the outstanding abilities of Kurt Warner, Larry Fitzgerald, Anquan Boldin, Steve Breaston ,etc. or if Haley really does deserve a lot of the credit for that incredible run and should be brought back to work some more magic with Fitz and Kevin Kolb?

Haley deserves a lot if credit, IMO. But I'm not sure you being him back so quickly...not in a year when the offense doesn't seem to be the problem.

As an aside, I think it's a shame he's got such a hot seat there in KC. He's 2 games removed from winning the division, for pete's sake.

Plus I doubt he would go back to where he took a step up. Most likely he would move on to another organization. But you never know in this league.

I'm not sure his apparent creds (i.e. tough guy, Parcells disciple) is perfectly suited for a QB Coach or OC (where key criteria might include play-calling creativity and TLC of the QB).

If he doesn't right the ship as a HC, he ultimately might prove most effective in some NFL front office.

Heck yea you bring him back!!!

The ink wouldn't even be dry off his firing before he was our OC.

Nice thing is he'd stay as our OC for good...the HC positions will have closed on him.

He's the perfect OC for us.

He's strong, pushes players to do better, knows the offenses up and down, can handle super stars and leads.

Mike Miller can go back to QB's

I doubt if fired he would head backwards to us. He would most likely have to sit out this year and see what developes after the season is over.

It's amazing. Just like CKW he took a team in disarray (6-26) to the Division title in just 2 seasons. And now they're talking about him getting fired?

If KC is like that Whiz would have been given his walking papers halfway through last season.

Of course in Arizona you have to go 5-11 for at least 3 years and get outscored 425 to 274 every year before even half the fans will admit you need to get fired.

:p:p

The guy is going to lose his job because the 'O' stinks in KC, but somehow we need him to run ours. Doubt it comes to pass and we simply don't need him.

Some respond well, but others do not. Haley's style of motivation does not play well with a good number of players.

Whiz may not have been too pleased with how much credit Haley was getting from the players and the media for his role in the Super Bowl run. At this point, Whiz's allegiance is to Mike Miller anyway. And, thirdly, Haley would probably want to go to a team that has a defensive oriented HC so Haley can be the show on offense as the OC.

The only way Haley returns to the Cardinals, imo, is as the HC. If Whiz continues to falter and is let go, it isn't a stretch to think that Fitz would lobby for Haley as HC.

Whiz > Haley.

The only time when the Chiefs had a semi respectable offense was when Weis was OC.

What about from 2002-2005 when the Chiefs ranked 4th,2nd,1st,and 1st in offensive yards gained and 1st,1st,2nd and 6th in points scored?

Weis was OC for one year. Haley's second year on the job. Some of this stuff is just hilarious.

Sorry that I didn't make myself clear, I was referring to Haley's time as Chiefs coach. I stand by my point till proven otherwise. Is it not coincidental the Chiefs started imploding when the Weis/Haley rift rumors started? Compare Cassel's stats from 11' and 09' to '10. :mulli:

Yeah you should have been more clear. Haley's only been there two seasons and Weis was one. You made it sound like it was some long term thing. :mulli:

The Chiefs finished 2010 5-2 when did the Haley/Weis rift start?

The rumors started coming out around the last game of the season to wildcard when Weis confirmed he was going to Florida, I don't remember. Just look at the Chiefs points differential in their last five games including last season and the playoffs.

Something had to have happened because they went from rolling over the Rams and Titans to the tank in one week.

Haley botched the Breaston deal.
Breaston has such a knee issue that he overlooked it. Made him look bad to the ownership, team dr and scouts. You know he pushed hard for him.
Stevie hasn't done a thing as of yet

IN SB's defense; neither has the rest of the team... That being said, you are probably right.

However, I think what is happening in KC is proof that acting as HC and OC is a recipie for failure...Haley is a very good OC IMO...
