To say "hey buddy, welcome to Arizona. I'm Todd Heap. I'm a TE on the team and I just wanted to let you know, in case you weren't aware....

DUDE, I'M EFFING OPEN ALL THE TIME!!

Holy cow, I don't know if it is apparent on TV, but at the game it happens OVER and OVER and OVER again...Heap is WIDE open, and Kolb doesn't even glance his way. It was staggering how many times he didn't throw at the wide open TE.

I attribute this to the Cards NEVER using the tight end in the past. Perhaps Kolb is not even aware we have tight ends on this team. Maybe the coaches don't know.

I am surprising at how the Cards never use their tight ends as well. I wonder what the reasons are. However, tight ends create some of the best mismatches in the league and espeially useful in the redzone.

You would thin a coach who is a former tight end would realize the value of the position.

I don't know man, he's calling routes where Heap's getting open as hell, but KK is blind to the number 86 for some odd reason.

Terrible coaching Donald if he is as open as we all see him the the coaching staff needs to call plays where he IS the target and demand Kolb to throw to him. It all boils down to coaching and this team looks like they aren't getting much off it!!!!!

Heap should have had a 12 catch day today. And a monster yardage total. Nashman, you are right...make him option one on some of those plays and force Kolb to read him first. He's Larry Locking and running, it seems.

SMH.

Brown and Keith and the "let one guy go unblocked every play" offensive line scheme has made Kolb gunshy. He's either bailing out or throwing the ball as soon as he gets the football in his hands. No possible way he can see if a receiver is open.

Stupid Offensive Line.

I agree DJ - Kolb is Larry Locking - if it isn't there he knows that Levi's man is just about to hit him, or that Keith's guy is already free and coming at him (or both) so he tiptoes through the tulips and throws it out of bounds.

Meanwhile Heap is 19 yards downfield, open and wondering why in the hell he answered the phone when meeting with the Jets.

Derek Anderson vision was Kevin Kolb's main problem in Philly. He is more accurate than Derek Anderson but I am not sure he is a smarter player?

He is NOT throwing as soon as he gets the ball... in fact, he is holding on to it for too long. He just does not have the vision. Plus, rolling out to one side limits your field of operation anyway.

Just one example from today... Larry was WIDE open running along the side on the last drive second down where he threw a short pass to Ducett in coverage that was an incompletion.

Agreed.

So many missed opportunities. I would understand if Heap was not in his sight line, but holy mackerel, there are players right in Kolb's face that are wide open.

concerning to say the least.

Kolb frustrates me a lot when he actually gets great pass protection and has all day sitting back their to find an open man. QB's shred our D when this happens. Kolb can't find anyone and ends up rolling out, which more times than not leads to nothing. His pocket awareness and field vision needs some work for sure. Some blame is on the OL, but Kolb deserves his fair share for not stepping up into the pocket.

Housler? Housler?

TEs are going nuts, around the league. Watch Jimmy Graham at New Orleans.

Rob made a nice play yesterday but he wasn't in there that much.

It's clear Kolb has to find other guys. When people watching the game on tv insist they can see open players when the camera is on the QB I get a little skeptical. When people at the game insist they can see open guys downfield I tend to believe them because you can see the whole field.

You could also see Heap more than once come back to the huddle wanting the ball. The irony was one play Kolb threw short to Doucet just as Fitz' man jumped the route leaving Fitz open and he was really making it clear he was pissed. I love Fitz but I wanted to say to him that's the exact WRONG thing to do. If anything Kolb is looking for you too much, you were only open because your man correctly guessed he was going underneath, something he needs to do more of go to other guys.

I agree he locks into Fitz too much (because Fitz wants his catches?). Also seems to me he is reading only one half of the field. The commentators said "he's had trouble learning the new offensive system in AZ since it's completely different from Philly."

If it doesn't come this year, wait until next year. Never thought I would say that, but he has the tools and right now he looks as if he is running on instinct.
