After nearly decapitating St. Louis Blues forward Oskar Sundqvist with a devastating pre-season hit, Tom Wilson made his return to the Capitals lineup on Tuesday night, and his first game back — to the delight of Caps fans and probably the chagrin of everyone else — was very productive in a very Tom Wilson kind of way. Naturally, Wilson dropped the mitts and tossed a few knuckles in his first game back, too, going toe-to-toe in a spirited scrap with the Wild’s Marcus Foligno. Wilson originally received a 20-game ban for his preseason hit on Sundqvist, but that suspension was reduced to 14 contests by a neutral arbitrator, and he was immediately eligible to play in tonight’s game against Minnesota.
