According to the same source that disclosed Terry Porter was about to be fired as Suns coach, the Rockets are leaning toward swapping Tracy McGrady's expiring $22M contract, Carl Landry and Aaron Brooks for Leandro Barbosa and Stoudemire," who owns an escape clause after next season and is demanding an extension this summer to waive it"

I love this trade.. The returns we are getting are good, and t-mac comes off the books soon... But i dont like trading barbs... :/

At least your screen name isn't a misnomer. That trade is crazy bad.

if you are a rockets fan this trade is a dream come true. if you are a suns fan if the head office did something like this it would be time to get out the pitchforks and torches and march downtown.

Rofl how horrible is this trade?

We trade Amare Stoudemire with an expiring contract for Tracy McGrady who is completely worthless.
And Barbosa for Landry and a worse version of Barbosa in Brooks.

Smart.. not

If the Rockets send a first rounder (2011 for instance), why not? Doesn't make much sense for the Rockets, though, since they would have a terrible backcourt and too much guys inside.

let me put this way. in this draft if barbosa was in it i think he would be a picked at around 10 maybe better. in landry and brooks the both would be in the 20s. so in that case you are getting ripped off from that half the trade. then you look at the tmac for amare. in this you have to say that tmac is done. it is questionable if he will ever play more then 40 games in a season again. and while amare does have a history of injuries i think it is safe to say that he will have be playing in the nba for some years to come. so then you ask is it a salary dump? tmac's contract is up at the end up this year and amare has an out at the same time and has already made it clear that he is going to use it. so then it is a salary dump. unless their was a high lottery pick or a number of first round picks there isnt any real value to this offer.

I like how the "source" having anticipated Porter's firing is supposed to give him credibility. The whole world knew that Porter was on the chopping block for at least a few weeks before the axe finally fell.

Yeah, there were some who knew that once he got hired!

I love the draft time. It's full of message board beauties that go something like this:

"This one guy named ________ on the ________ message board said __________ is going to be traded TONIGHT OR TOMORROW! WHY? Because I know a guy who works for the Suns!"

Come to find out his screen name is Spurssuck and the guy he knows cleans the restrooms at USA Arena.

What a freaking horrible trade. McGrady is a ball hungry loser who will never win a damn thing. He is injury prone. Brooks? Come on. Landry? What a joke.

If this trade goes down it will be one of the worst in franchise history. It will also prove that the Suns have no intention of ever changing their defensive philosophy or it proves this franchise is all about saving money right now. Where is the defense in this trade? Where is the big man your going to replace Amare with?

I know the Suns FO is horrible but I can't believe they are this bad.

Bad news--Paul Coro just wrote that the Suns are talking about Stoudemire for McGrady.

http://www.azcentral.com/members/Blog/PaulCoro/56227

He references the Post article that mentions Barbosa, but had a good point--we'd be taking on an extra $4 million because McGrady makes $23 million. If the trade is Jason Richardson instead of Barbosa, the dollars make more sense.

But this is one of the most God-awful trade rumors I've ever seen, even if we keep Barbosa--I thought it was a realgm invention when I first saw it. If this trade actually happens, I honestly may disown the Suns until Sarver sells the team, however long that takes (I've been a fan since the day I was born).

This would almost rank up there with KT and 2 picks for jack ....you know. Great plan, let's get rid of the only two good young players we have.

If this is all Stat is worth, see what he does up until the trade deadline, and if he's proven he's worth a max extension, keep him, if not trade him at that point.

This an absolutely disgusting rumor. Amare and barbs for 2 role players, and a washed up injury prone guard?!?! sadly i could see kerr and sarver making a trade like this, and if so, they are basically begging me to not be a fan anymore.:barf:

If this trade goes down, any chance we can get permission to type the "F" word on this board for a few days?

Come on guys, settle down. This is just cooked up by a Rockets fan to stir the pot. The Suns have saved the money they needed to with the O'Neal trade. If Stoudemire is moved, it won't be in a salary dump.

Actually, I believe this report came from the NY Post.

In other words Vecsey, who has even less credibility. I'm absolutely convinced that every team in the league has a guy who feeds Vecsey total garbage just to jerk his chain. Almost everything he says is absurd, and he never gets anything right unless he's just jumping on someone else's confirmed bandwagon.

That's mostly true.

From what I can tell, the NO trade for Chandler has more viability than this one, but it's the Hawks rumor that won't go away -- multiple sources reporting, not just loudmouth/Vescey lapdog Stephen A. Smith.
