okay, I'm not sure if there's a thread on this or not and I'm too lazy to check, but I thought this would be an interesting topic.

My favorite? Easy.

Bill Conti's iconic score for Rocky.

This whole score is amazing. The opening Fanfare, Gonna Fly Now, the fight, the final bell... it's all just sick IMO.

I actually use this score to start my back rehab exercises in the morning. Nothing gets you ready to face an uphill climb like this music.

My 2nd and 3rd favorite scores are probably Danny Elfman's for Burton's 1989 Batman and John Williams' score for Star Wars followed up by the score from The Dark Knight and then John William's Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Rocky no doubt. Nothing else is even close.

However, Risky Business comes to mind.

Star Wars is awesome, best ever, but Chinatown sticks out to me as audaciously undervalued.

2 of my favorite are Jurassic Park. The main theme is amazing. Also I really like Hans Zimmer's score from Gladiator.

creepy.

I liked Pulp Fictions'.

Pulp Fiction is a soundtrack, not a score.

1) Passion - The Last Temptation of Christ (Peter Gabriel)
2) The Shawshank Redemption (Thomas Newman)
3) The Last of the Mohicans (Randy Edelman and Trevor Jones)
4) Gladiator (Hans Zimmer and Lisa Gerrard)
5) The Insider (Peter Biourke and Lisa Gerrard)

Honerable Mentions:
The Green Mile, Cinderella Man, Braveheart, Glory, Schindler's List, Jaws, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Godfather, Casablanca

I'm a huge fan of Mark Isham.
Especially, The Cooler.

Okay here is one off the mark...

'Queen of the Damned' Not a great movie but I love the score and soundtrack.

Oh, I almost forgot 'Blade Runner'...

I know it was for TV, but it was also a movie. X-Files is simple but memorable. It even has lyrics (most people don't know, but I do):

This is the X-Files Show
With music by Mark Snow

I really liked the score from "Dances With Wolves" (Oscar for John Barry), and I remember really liking the score from "Man from Snowy River", though that was many years ago. Mark Knopfler also did a great job with "The Princess Bride", IMO.

But "Rocky" is just timeless, as is the "Star Wars" main theme.

And the score from "Jaws" frightened many, especially around water, whether the ocean or a swimming pool (speaking for myself)... :)

For me nothing even comes close to "A Nightmare before Christmas".
