In the men's team pursuit, Italy advanced to the gold-medal final after posting the fastest time in the first round of 3:49.464. The team includes Francesco Lamon, Liam Bertazzo, Simone Consonni and Filippo Ganna. In the final against Denmark, Italy were fastest out of the gate, but slipped behind by the midpoint by a tenth of a second.
