There are no secrets in the NFL. Eventually it all comes to light on the football field. One truth that always remains self evident is that the best path to playoff success remains winning the division. For over two decades now, the NFC East titles have flip-flopped year after year, passing from one to another with no repeat winner. 2024 was no different, with the Philadelphia Eagles taking the crown from the Dallas Cowboys.
2024 also so the Eagles return to the Super Bowl for the third time in eight seasons, by virtue of winning the NFC Championship game over the Washington Commanders. The Eagles had home-field advantage for that contest by virtue of winning the division, and parlayed that into a dominant Lombardi-earning win in The Big Game.
The Cowboys are going to have to do some work in order to catch up, but they aren't making moves in a vacuum. They're comings and goings are happening while the other teams are changing their rosters as well. With the first wave of free agency now over, it's a good time to review what the Eagles have done so far to maintain their status as the best team in the conference.
