Sitting at 37 minutes until the deadline with only 2 trades so far? Hopefully Banks will get shipped.

I wouldn't mind if the Suns shipped KT before he gets hurt again, but doing nothing is starting to look like the best-case scenario.

Some trades go through after the deadline too. As long as they inform the league of the deal by the deadline, they can fax in the paperwork afterward.

Sweeney is nice for the Rockets. They need more depth up front.

Wow, trade deadlines are usually pretty uneventful, but this has to be the worst that I can remember. Maybe be partly due to no team in the lottery wanting to give up a pick this year.

I'm the most intrigued as to why Miami didn't get anything done. I can see why the Cavs didn't because other than Lebron, Gooden and Z, they don't really have much to offer other teams. I'm surprised Bibby wasn't dealt at all though as well. My biggest concern was someone in the Top 8 in the West doing something to get them closer to us. I'm glad that didn't happen.

I think Sweetney to HOU could be the biggest trade as far was WC impact goes. That just gives them more frontline depth.

The whole season has sucked for trades, and I agree that the projected strength of the upcoming draft is a big reason. The only significant trades since the season started have been PHI-DEN and IND-GSW. Other than that, it has been only a few minor moves for scrubs (unless I'm forgetting something). Without researching it, I'd guess this has been the quietest season for trades in a long time.

Not only is the 2007 draft a factor, but the league has gotten to a point where everyone (even the Knicks and Mavericks) are getting cost-conscious, most players are overpaid, and no one wants to be the side taking on more salary for players who aren't real difference-makers.
