Does anyone think it would be a good idea to use Thomas Jones as trade bait on draft day? Maybe to get a veteran, a draft pick or both? Or is he the next Leeland McElrpy and no one will be interested? I think the Cards should at least try to dump him off to someone. Personally, I think they blew it by not doing it with Jake and Boston.

I do not have much time...getting ready to go to work and the war has been on my mind more than football...

But...Yes. We should get rid of Jones. He is a cancer and a bust. I was hoping he would produce for us and have been a supporter of his but this last year really showed something lacking in his character. Especially his broken hand incident that, by some credible reports, he suffered in a bar fight. Then to lie, not participate, etc, he has become a cancer.

If we can not trade him then I bet we dump him. Better yet, keep him on the roster and don't dress him for any of the games. That way he rots on the bench for a year.

But hey...I am not bitter....

On a serious note...

I hope we end this war soon so we can save as many lives as we can....

No brainer. But will the fish be biting on that particular bait?

Thank you, Chris.

For 100001 reasons, this guy has absolutely no trade value. We couldn't get a warm case of beer for him. I do not understand what fantasy world people live in where they think someone's going to give us a draft pick for a guy with 800 yards in 2 seasons and a horrible attitude. Especially since it's as plain as day that we're going to cut the guy.

Former pro bowler Terry Glenn was traded for a 6th rounder, all-pro LT Kyle Turley for a second, and you think Jones is worth anything?

Yes I do think Jones has some trade value at this point, admittidly it is not much of a value but there is some value in him. He rushed decently last year avg 3.7 yards a carry and had a game with 173 yards rushing. I am sure some team might be willing to take him in a trade package deal, his value obviosly equal to about a 6th or 7th rounder much like Glenn was worth.

If we could get a 7th for him it would be a miracle. The guy has gone completely AWOL and if we sign Emmitt we're plainly going to cut him. Why would anyone give up a pick for a guy we're just waiting to release?

Actually I keep hearing that we are going to cut him. My question would be why? He wont save you any money cutting him really, and he is another back with proven carries on the squad. And thats still assuming we sign Emmitt which isnt a forgone conclusion yet.

I thought I read in today's Star-Ledger (NJ) that the Jets turned down that proposed deal?

That made me wonder if the Texans could be sold on TJ and our #6 for the #3. But I guess if it's common knowledge that we'll cut TJ after June 1st, that idea is out the window.

or something!
