the knicks are shopping sprewell...again. there was the old penny rumor that we talked about a while ago. rumors of spree going just about everywhere. another guy who is interesitng is allan houston. it seems like the knicks are looking to make some moves. i think houston would be a good fit for the suns, assuming we could trade hardaway. hardaway did show some good signs, but we need a shooter.

hopefully free agency can take care of that, but colangelo is known for making some moves. there is a lot of rumors and offers probly floating out there, but i doubt anyone is comming to the suns asking for penny either.

if the suns keep hardaway i won't be too upset. i think he can stiff be very effective for what we need.

Sprewell is overrated at this stage of his career, but he's still better than Hardaway. Also, Sprewell's contract is one year shorter. Not only does that mean it will be up sooner, but it also means that Sprewell is somewhat more likely to be taken in next summer's expansion draft than Hardaway is. (Neither of them is very likely.) So Sprewell would be off the books at least a year before Hardaway, and possibly sooner than that.

So ... it's very unlikely that the Knicks would accept Hardaway in a trade for Sprewell.

Forget Allan Houston. His contract is a disaster -- nearly $16 million this season, and guaranteed all the way through 2007.
