Don't you think films like Transformers would be better if they focused more on the human element than the technology element? Wouldn't the payoff be even that much more rewarding? You can keep all the EFX and still tell a story that says something about us.
What they needed to do is humanize the robots (hell, Wall-E did a better job of that with no dialougue) like the cartoon did. Instead they only use special effects and cheesy dialouge that give the audience zero connection to the robots.

No I dont think it would be better. Art has many different forms and ways it is presented to you. There is an endless amount of movies that provide what you are looking for or describing above. I dont need to be told anything about us.

What I want from a movie like this is lots and lots of freaking fantastic special effects, tons and tons of action, Less story and in your face blow by blow entertainment. The movie delivers that and then some IMHO.

And unfortunately, even he knows the movie is crap. :D

But a major majority of the movie going population seems to love it! ;)

Part 3 here we come! :claphat:

He also told me that Citizen Kane only liked by people here on Earth. The rest of the universe, while admitting it was landmark in many respects, thinks the movie was too long and too boring. :)

... and 4....and 5...and 6. Hollywood can milk this series as long as the stars/Bay keep going with it.

Not the worst movie in the world, but definitely on par with the below average Wolverine movie.

Holy Smokes over 200 million on its first weekend in release. Already eclipsing its production budget with domestic ticket sales alone. Not even counting the other 100+ million internationaly. I expected it to be big. But not that big.

A little misleading though, the true total for the weekend only was $112 million. Wednesday and Thursday brought in A LOT of ticket sales. Still a huge number.

And some people were thinking Harry Potter would compete with that??

Absolutely loved it. They set out to make the mother of all action films, and they succeeded, in my opinion.

Will I like this movie if I though the first one was the bomb?
