Supposedly ESPN News is reporting this I haven't found confirmation anywhere and it's completely out of left field if true.

Jon Wilner of the Mercury News is reporting it too so it's apparently a done deal. He has one year left on his Stanford contract but no renewal deal was done. Wilner says johnson is a friend of Tim Floyd's and since Tim has such connections at LSU and decided not to pursue the job himself, he recommended Trent for the job.
