The Trent Sherfield contract details are in.

The Denver Broncos gave Sherfield a two-year contract worth $6 million. The deal includes a $1.5 million signing bonus that will be prorated as $750,000 salary cap hits in each of the next two seasons, according to OverTheCap.com.

This season, Sherfield will have a $1.255 million base salary and a $255,000 per-game roster bonus, giving him a total 2025 salary cap hit of $2.26 million.

Next year, Sherfield's base salary will jump to $2.48 million and his per-game bonus total will increase to $510,000. That will give him a total 2026 salary cap hit of $3.74 million.

Sherfield's salary is not guaranteed, so only his $1.5 million signing bonus would be a dead money cap hit if he's cut. If the Broncos release him next year, it would cost $750,000 in cap space while saving $2.99 million.

In an ideal world, Denver won't have a reason to cut Sherfield, who figures to be a key special teams player over the next two seasons.
