Incorrect. This game would have ended in a shootout. There is a specific mathematical reason for a game in the first round to end in a shootout (I believe it is if GF, GA and PTS are all equal), and this game met all the requirements. It had to because it determined which team would move on to the QFs. A draw would have done nothing to determine that. When the Turks' second goal was scored, everyone thought for sure it was going to go to PKs. Turned out, they didn't need to.

yeah - crazy game - i wanted the czechs to take it, but can't fault the way turkey closed it out - very entertaining and it would of been PKs to determine who advances out of the group if it ended regulation as a draw

You know, even as I posted, I kind of wondered if that was the case. They kept saying that the winner advanced. I was just too lazy to look it up LOL Yeah, the tiebreaker goes something like that.
