If anyone doubts that the major benefit of the trade (in addition to getting a strong starting Center who will play solid defense and rebounding plus a strong pick-and-roll on offense) is getting rid of Hedo Turkoglu, here's immediate proof.

At a tall 6'10" and a light 220 lbs., Hedo couldn't quite reach over the top of the rim on a dunk, landed on his butt (from being touched lightly by Dirk and Kidd) and made a fool of himself.

Buh bye, Turk. :thud:

Yea that was a bad dunk, but if you watched that game last night, he played terrific D on Nowitzki. He really hounded him and I was surprised at the way he positioned himself to guard Dirk. He's not a bad player, he was just a bad fit because he is a point forward on a team with a superstar point guard.

Looks to me like Dirk pushed him in the back.

Sure looked like that to me too. Hakeem or Amare may have been able to still dunk after that little nudge but not the Hedo of today.

I thought Hedo was athletic when he played for the Kings. Could I be mistaken? Hedo is certainly not athletic now.

yeah he definitely got fouled...although it wasn't enough contact for him to not dunk the bball.

dirk was gassed that whole game and hurt his leg in the game vs miami the night before. on a normal night that's an easy matchup for dirk.
