I'll bet the news is, "Jerry Colangelo said that the Suns may try to make another trade for financial reasons."

"We made a trade, but we cannot comment on who it is or why we did it."

That's a joke, right? Did anyone actually say that? Come on, Chaplin, I'm counting on your smiley faces to tell me what to think!

Heh, unfortunately we can't fall for that one, because of Marion's BYC status. Now if you had said Stoudemire....

They quoted David Aldridge on ESPN.com, lol.

They also said the Suns won't do anything that hurts their flexibility in the offseason. I guess they didn't know Clark was FA as well.

Anyway they said that Googs may be gone very soon.

Here is strange thought. What if the Suns are planning to move Googs AND Harvey to Utah? Googs alone might not work for Utah, but both of them might keep them in the playoffs.

It would explain the weird sustitution pattern of the past few games.

How does that make any sense? Harvey can't even be traded in a transaction like that until February 23rd. And that is after the trading deadline. Harvey ain't going anywhere.

Since we are talking about pure salary dumps, they could present them as separate transactions.

I'm not saying this will happen. I'm just saying it is consistent with giving Googs minutes over Harvey.

I'm just curious, how can trading Harvey (and it would have to be a one-to-one), save us any kind of money?

In fact, isn't the one-for-one trading rule void after 7 days? He was acquired on December 23rd--wouldn't he be impossible to trade him from December 30th to February 23rd due to NBA CBA rules?

I agree that playing Googs over Harvey is strictly about trading Googs, but you mentioned also trading Harvey, and from what I understand, that is not possible, even if we wanted to.

Somebody has been studying his CBA. :)
