Twins' Manship the victim of embarrassing 'E'
The Minnesota Twins used a new pitcher Wednesday against the Kansas City Royals — or at least a familiar pitcher with a new last name.
Twins reliever Jeff Manship came in to pitch the sixth inning of Wednesday's series finale against the Royals, which Minnesota won 4-2. There was one slight problem, however: His name was misspelled on the back of his jersey.
The white lettering on Manship's navy jersey instead read “Mansihp.” Clearly, the right-hander didn't notice the mistake before putting on his jersey before Wednesday's game. After he got back to the Twins dugout after a scoreless sixth inning, he caught some grief from his teammates about his misspelled last name.
