It looks like he wont be back with the Jets. IMHO it may make sense to bring him in on a one or two year deal to mentor our young dbs. I would guess that he will head to the coaching ranks after his career is over. This would be a good stepping stone for him while providing some veteran leadership.

That is a good idea......it wil never work. He is comming off of a HUGE season. He had double digit INT's and this is his last shot at a contract, he will want to get the most money possible, which means he will not accept a position change to FS (FS makes less than CB).

Ty Law wants a $10 mill bonus and a $7 mill salary on at least a 3 year deal. Still interested?

Where did you hear that Skkorp? That would be a pretty lofty asking price for a guy thats 33 IMO.

This will fall on deaf ears.......all those who clamor to sign each and every aging and former glamor player who becomes available, don't seem to care about the cost and benefit issues.

Thanks for the info Skorp
10 mil a year!! No way. I was thinking he would be available for much less.
Say 3 to 4 mil per year.
It will be interesting to what he will receive when the dust settles.

i do for one try to consider the cost benedit issues, unfortunately I didnt do my homework and didnt realize that the cost would be so high.

That said, I still think he would be a valuable addition at the right price.
