Why do people on this board keep saying Tyler Johnson can play? Has nobody actually seen him play since he signed the big contract? He has been atrocious on both sides of the ball. He has made Isaiah Canaan seem like an All-Star.

Heavy exaggerations.

It's all financial. If Sarver did not want to do a waive and stretch on Anderson, which is definitely possible, then what do you do? Try to trade him for a player that can see the floor. Anderson wasn't going to get you Draymond Green, so it's more about getting rid of Anderson for something of SOME value.

I'd go as far as saying that we're lucky we got somebody to take Anderson for more than a stick of expensive gum.

If it's truly all financial, then this team truly will never have hope of competing ever again unless and until Sarver is gone.

I think we're getting Wayne Ellington too. WTF?

So, at the wing we have:

Booker
Warren
Jackson
Bridges
Crawford
Daniels
Okobo
Melton
Johnson
Ellington

That has to be some sort of dubious record.

It feels like another trade is in the works.

Except we needed that cap space to fill our gaping holes at point guard and power forward. And Johnson's three point shooting has steadily declined each of the last 4 seasons and is currently at a mediocre 35% and only an equally mediocre 42.6% overall shooting percentage this season.

He is shooting .503 from 2 pt range and .353 from 3 this season. That is decent - not good. That is what you get for 4 million a year.

Think of this guy as Daniels replacement - we would need a backup SG next year anyway.

Gambo is saying that we are shutting down Booker for the rest of the year with the hamstring and Johnson will get most of his time. WTF

G-Leagers deserve time over Johnson, as do Melton, Okobo, Crawford, Daniels, Evans and, of course, Booker.

You were trying to claim Anderson has value because we have no one at PF. My point is G-leaguers are getting time over him. HE HAS ZERO VALUE. You are trying to change the subject.

Where is the expiring if Tyler Johnson has a $19 million player option next season?

No, not good. And not $4 million. $20 million. They restructured Anderson's contract so that a buy-out would be easy this summer. No such luck with Johnson. We are stuck with him and will have no cap space to acquire a point guard or power forward.

He's saying he'll be expiring NEXT year.

So..basically we can count on being in the same crappy position next year that we were in this year at this time.

How many times will ownership/management just keep kicking the can down the road before it does something to actually improve the team.

He did not say that.

I sure hope Gambo didn't say that. Shutting down Booker for the rest of the season would be an exact repeat of the mistake they made with Bledsoe two seasons ago.

The lack of leadership with this franchise is astounding.

That's good. Heard it on another board. Still doesn't make this trade any more sensible.

The only sensible thing this franchise has done in what seems like forever is drafting Ayton #1 overall.

(Of course, the coaching staff is horribly misusing him, so...)

They were just talking about how Booker will miss tonight's game and he may be out for a few games. Then they were discussing how he always seems to be getting injured.

Nothing about shutting him down was discussed.
