Good stuff, if Bowles isnt totally incompetent, this defense could be explosive. There are a few guys who just have a knack for making plays: PP, Tyrann, Dansby, Dwash, Calais etc.

This D could do great things. Our front 7 has been called the most talented in the league (we'll see of that translates to the field) and with PP as our cb1 and Powers/Cason/Arenas as 2, 3 & 4, I like our depth there. My one concern is Safety, word is Jeramiah Bell has been outstanding in camp, so if Badger is what he's billed to be this could be special

Thanks for sharing that. I'd be rooting for this young man regardless of where he landed in the NFL, but the fact that he's a Cardinal is even better.

I think the structure of the NFL and the leaders on this team will help him personally and let him be the ballplayer we saw in college. And if that happens, it's going to be something special out there.

Main thing will be his money management and how he deals with old friends. Time will tell, but so far so good.

This D hasn't proven to me that they can stop the run. When and if they do that, I will agree that it can be a really good group. In a division with SF & Seattle, that's the difference between going 6-10 or 10-6.

I feel for the kid on one hand and I'm glad he is with us and will be with solid players to help him through. After reading the story it's amazing he has made it thus far. It says a lot about what he is made of. Great luck TJ and we will support you everyday.

How many games will you give them to prove it to you? Have only played 0 games so far.

Wow-----I'm just thinking, "how great would it be if we all became his new extended family"? I have a feeling that his friends on the team are like family to him, but wouldn't it be really good if we began sending him an occasional letter, relaying the fact that we are proud of the way he has invested himself in the team, and are proud of the way that he has turned his life around. Seems like anything positive coming from us would help. Anyone know how one would address a letter to him so that he gets it?

This article really sums it up for me. I want Mathieu to be successful because I like exciting football players and that is what he has been and what I hope he will continue to be.

The Punt return had a feel of Patrick Peterson to it. So dangerous with the ball in his hands.

Agree. Even after reading the training camp reports posted here and reading about him in practice, I was--I don't even know what the right word is--surprised at how often he was around the ball. Credited with 4 tackles, 1 for loss, 2 passes defensed, a sack, and 2 punt returns. In his first NFL game.

Although Mathieu doesn't have the speed that PP has I believe that he might be just as good of a returner as PP. He has great vision to find lanes, great elusiveness and the strength to break a lot of tackles. He also has good speed and quickness while looking very comfortable making the catch.

Really thinking of it I can remember 3 off the top of my head. A tackle on kick coverage, a tackle for loss on a WR screen and the sack. Likely was another one in there as well.
