Tyrann Mathieu, the greatest pound for pound football player in the world

http://arizonasports.com/story/4449...pound-for-pound-football-player-in-the-world/

The term “pound for pound” is a convenient way for people to compare boxing champions from different weight classes.

You ever wonder why that term isn’t used in football more? After all, there are different positions manned by players of different shapes and sizes.

With that in mind, we at Arizona Sports have crowned Cardinals defensive back Tyrann Mathieu as the pound for pound greatest football player in the world. That’s right, we said it … the world!

In his third year in the NFL, “The Honey Badger” has wreaked havoc on opposing offenses. The former LSU star has racked up 46 total tackles, one quarterback sack, one forced fumble and two interceptions, including one he took back to the house for a touchdown against the San Francisco 49ers.

Considering Mathieu stands just 5-foot-9 and weighs 186 pounds, that’s a lot of production per pound!

186 pounds is generous. I would say he is at least 10 pounds lighter.

As much as I'd like to agree I can't. Brown is on pace to break the single season receiving record with Mike Vick and Landry Jones for half his games. Untouchable.

Brown has been invisible without big ben minus the last game.

What do you mean minus the last game? It happened and he was the reason they got into FG range...
There have been many games without big Ben this year and he was barely seeing the ball in most of them. He also hadn't caught a TD since Ben went down until he came back

Hopefully that formats right. 4 games this year under 50 yards receiving and one TD in those 4.

My only point was he didnt do much at all without Big Ben. I dont expect him to either but the comment made it sound like he was killing it with vick and landry too.

Yet he still has more receiving yards without Ben than with. Hmm.

sure about that? Ben didnt go down until the 4th quarter of last game.

He played in games 1,2,3,8 and 9. 767 of the yards and 3 TD.

in the other games 235 yards and no TDs.

Looking at play by play Brown had 3 catches for 91 yards after Ben went down. So that's 326 in less than 5 games. Less than he had with Ben but far from invisible.

Depending on when Roethlisberger gets back he could end up breaking the record for yards in a single season and b2b seasons.

Are we seriously arguing about whether Antonio Brown is awesome?

so instead of 767 vs 235 its 676 vs 326

:raccoon: I am with you just waging war on erroneous statements.

Waging war on causes is good when you're younger, but I just want to eat Nachos and drink beer. I surrender debates regularly simply because I judge the effort VS the return just isn't worth it.

(Edit: There are times when I just want to forum rage however)
