TYSON NASH TO PERFORM CEREMONIAL
BALL DROP AT STING GAME ON FRIDAY
GLENDALE, AZ --- The Arizona Sting announced today that the ceremonial ball drop at Friday night’s game versus the Calgary Roughnecks will be performed by Phoenix Coyotes forward Tyson Nash.
Nash, a fan favorite at the Glendale Arena, is a big lacrosse fan and played the game as a young man in his home province of Alberta, Canada. As a member of the Coyotes, he currently has three assists and 52 penalty minutes in 24 games played in 2006. In 324 career NHL games, Nash has collected 27 goals and 31 assists for 58 points. He has also spent 589 minutes in the penalty box over the course of his career as a member of the Coyotes and the St. Louis Blues.
Friday night’s game at the Glendale Arena is a rematch of last season’s NLL West Division Final in which the Sting beat the Roughnecks by a score of 19-15 in Calgary. The two teams are currently battling for first place in the West Division with the Sting (2-0) currently ahead of the 2-1 Roughnecks. Game time on Friday is 7:30 PM; doors will open at 6:30 PM.
