No offense to Ike Diogu who is an unbelievable player, but if the seaosn ended right now Stoudamire would be pac-10 POY. Great game in Tucson, the one in Seattle should be just as hard-fought and epic. The difference between these two teams and the rest of the conference is very, very big.

Because he's had 4 or 5 good games in a row? Uh, think again.

The guy is averaging 16 points a game and has no other notable statistics. He's on a good streak, but he's no where near the level of Diogu.

First off notice where I said "if the season ended right now." Second, I have repeatedly said on this board that Ike is the best player in the conference.

However, in Pac-10 play (which is what Pac-10 POY voters look at) Salim has essentially carried his team to the top of the conference. Ike has carried ASU somewhere in the middle. It would be a close, but as of right now Salim would carry the vote simply due to each's comparable play but Salim's team rank in the standings.

Salim is averaging 21.0 ppg in Pac-10 games and his team is 7-1.

Ike is averaging 19.0 ppg in Pac-10 games and his team is 4-4.

Yeah, but Diogu helped ASU defeat Delaware St., Fairleigh Dickinson and UC-Riverside. They could never have won those games without him. :D

Follow it up with a heartless loss against WSU. I pegged the Cats to lose against Dick Bennett once this year, but I figured it would be on the road. Cats had the inside track to the Pac-10 title and possibly a #1 seed in the West but now it's all up in the air.

Yep, just when everyone was starting to fill up the punch bowl for them, they piss in it. What was with those stupid 3's jacked up by Stoudamire, and even worse, Frye, in the last minute of the game?

Rumors out of Tucson is some members of the team got after it a little too hard last night and that Rodgers was suspended for mouthing off to the coaches. That's some terrific veteran leadership.

Having Rodgers certainly would have helped against that Kelati guy who was killing it, but I doubt the outcome would have been any different. UA came out flat while Wazzu was amped not to mention Lute again was outcoached by Dick Bennett.
