Pretty interesting story the 07-08 team has been stripped of a Pac 10 title for using an ineligible player.
From what I read online, one of the players on UCLA's team was working for a family in the area who in exchange, paid him which apparently included tuition. When UCLA found out the kid had been paid, they self reported it, the pac 10 decided the kid should not have been allowed to be eligible, and forfeited every game he played in for UCLA. That apparently was 2 matches, and by forfeiting those 2 matches, USC is now the Pac 10 champ for that year.
I will say this, at least they did the right thing and self reported when they discovered the violation but I have to figure there's more to this story that I haven't seen yet I don't quite get why paying the kids tuition in exchange for work is a violation, there has to be some connection such as the family being UCLA boosters or something else that I missed when reading it?
