Well, I'm certainly not surprised by this. What an idiot though...

NEW YORK -- Another violation of the NBA's drug policy will prevent Clifford Robinson from playing in the remainder of the New Jersey Nets' playoff series against the Miami Heat.

The league announced on Friday that the veteran forward has been suspended five games for violating the terms of the anti-drug program.

The suspension will begin with Game 3 of the Eastern Conference semifinal series between the Nets and Heat. The best-of-seven series is tied at one game apiece.

Robinson was suspended five games for violating the league's anti-drug policy in February 2005 as a member of the Golden State Warriors. Later in the month, he was traded to the Nets for a pair of second-round picks.

Ain't it weird. The difference between the NBA and the NFL. Compare Cliff Robinson's sanction to Ricky Williams.

These new NBA drug penalties are amazingly harsh. A role player gets caught with weed, and now you can pretty much write off the Nets' entire season.

If you're going to suspend Spliff for five games, why not wait until the start of next season? Are they worried he won't be around to punish?

Cliffy was suspended for smoking a substance that generally calms you down and Kidd was not suspended for the admitted battering his wife. Interesting.

Lesson - don't get caught with weed.

Alright, finally I have some time to get to this. Been pretty busy latley.

I went to Community College in Eastern Oregon and met Cliffs half-brother who was staying in the dorms. Before I knew he was related to Cliff, He saw I was a Suns fan, and said "I have a Suns Jersey, do you want it?" I couldn't turn down free Suns stuff, so I said "Yes." I was thinking it would be an old Barkley Jersey or something like that.

What he gave me was Cliffs Jersey from his time with the Suns. It's the real one and was game worn and everything. I was pretty shocked to get it, but i guess Cliff gave it to him after he was traded away. I'm 5'10 and the thing is like a dress on me.

We became good friends, and he got tickets to the Blazers-Mavs playoff games in Portland later that year. He called Cliff, and Cliff called Rasheed and got the tickets for us.

So we went up there, and he said "we'll just stay at Cliffs House." So we went up there, and stayed in his Pool house. Cliff wasn't there becuase he was still playing for another team (Detroit?) at the time.

There ended up being a bunch of people that came over and it was a big party. I spend all day driving so I was trying to sleep. I'm not really the partying type anyways, but when more people came over, the had a buch of drugs and everyhting. I was sort of stuck in a band situation.

On the way home I asked my friend if Cliff "Smokes" a lot he said; "All the time" and that "Him and Rasheed get together and smoke very often"

Pretty funny situation.
