I think it is a given that Stanton is coming to AZ.

I have no problem bringing him in, since as far as I am concerned, I look at the 2013 Cardinals, at this moment, to have ZERO QB's on the roster.

Kolb is not going to be here next season unless redoes his contract and that is not a given.

Skelton may earn a spot, but his play is about as good as a 3rd stringer, not to mention he only has 1 year on his contract.

Lindley ? LOL......he doesn't have the mental strength to play in this league, one can only hope he is cut, and ends up in San Diego behind Rivers, & Charlie Whitehurst.

Brian Hoyer ? ...... I dunno. I leave that up to the coaches. But as a #3 ? I would be OK with that.

Personally, I think our QB situation will be the following, if Kolb doesn't negotiate, and I think Kolb has a small amount of leverage here because he could be released and go to Kansas City.

- Byron Leftwich
- Drew Stanton
- Brian Hoyer

That is good for a year, as long as we cash in, next year with a better QB prospect.

KC will likely go after foles too

Foles is entering Year 2 of a rookie contract. Are you talking about Kevin Kolb?

I'd love to raid the Ravens' larder this offseason, but we probably don't have the money to do it. Paul Kruger (OLB) and Ellerbe would be my top targets, but I don't know.

Leftwich Hoyer and Stanton. "With the first pick of the 2014 nFL draft, the Arizona Cardinals select..."

Rugby, I hate the idea of going into 2013 with those quarterbacks, but why not substitute David Garrard for Byron Leftwich? Garrard has a big enough arm, he has/had solid mobility, he has starting (and playoff) experience, and he's just as much of an injury risk as Byron Leftwich.

The only downside is that we won't be able to measure Leftwich's release by how many rows the shadow shifts at UofP.

Dannell Ellerbe at ILB should be our top target in FA.

I wouldn't pay top dollar for a free agent ILB. Especially to play inside in a 3-4. Daryl Washington, Patrick Willis, Navarro Bowman, Sean Lee, Brian Cushing and Lawrence Timmons are all very good players, but most play WILB which allows them the freedom to make plays. Most SILB in a 3-4 just don't make enough plays to be worth 5 or 6 mil per year.

My two, non re-sign, priorities would be Desmond Bryant and Victor Butler. Both are younger players who have flashed potential, but not enough to demand large contracts. They also both fill needs.and would give us more flexability in the draft.

If we could get out of free agency with...

Drew Stanton
Mewelde Moore
Desmond Bryant
Victor Butler
Paris Lenon
Greg Toler
Rashad Johnson

...and come to some intelligent solution concerning Kevin Kolb, I would be very happy. I think it would take some creative moves by Keim, but should be doable.

You could probably land Ellerbe for $3-4M per year. Not bad for a young ILB with experience. But yeah there is no way I pay him $5M a year.

Talking about foles.

They have vick resigned, lots of talk out there that they may try to get some picks out of foles.

No such talk that I've heard. Little chance that they can get more for Foles than they put in, and Vick's only on a one-year deal.

The Eagles just signed former Ravens backup Denis Dixon, too. The talk was about how much Kelly feared playing against Foles; unless some team is willing to give up a 1st-round pick and more, fat chance of them letting him go until Kelly can work him out for himself.

I think our qbs this year will be:

1. Kolb (with a restructured contract)
2. Stanton
3. An early round drafted qb (no idea who that will be but most likely on the 2nd round)

Glaring holes on the roster are as follows:

1 starting QB
2 starting quality OGs
1 starting quality TE
1 starting quality SILB
1 starting quality SOLB
1 starting quality SS

If I'm looking to fill most through bargain FA, then here's who I think we should target:

Matt Moore - QB
Delanie Walker - TE
Danell Ellerbe - SILB
Shaun Phillips - WOLB (move Acho to SOLB)

Then we could draft:

RD 1 Chance Warmack - LG (Kelemete takes the starting RG spot)
RD 2 Barrett Jones or RD 3 Brian Schwenke - C
RD 3 Barcari Rambo - S

Agreed that for 3 mil, Ellerbe would be a good buy. We will see, but I think he gets 5 mil/year at least.

Sure.

Garrard would suffice.

My statement is less about Leftwich and more about getting a solid vet in here.

Heck. If Kolb takes a pay cut then I am fine with him.

Just don't want to see the Cardinals force the issue at QB this year.
