They will set the record for the fewest hits in a season for the Dbacks.

Next lowest was last year, which makes you think that maybe last year was a fluke...

This years team will also set the mark for fewest At-Bats and Plate Appearances.

And of course, have already set the record for most Strikeouts.

'Not surprising, considering the team's only strategy was something like, "Everyone swing for the seats. Sooner or later, someone will hit one out."

American League baseball in the National League. Come to think of it, the American League teams we saw employed more offensive strategy than the D'backs.

Mike D'Antoni was jokingly called Mike 'Antoni -- no D for defense.

I guess we'll have to call Bob Melvin Bb Melvin -- no O for offense.

Ive never been more disappointed in a Dbacks season.. Not even the Steve Finley half jump in NY in the playoffs ranks this high in burnouts for me.. Just a horrible display of baseball.. In fact Im surprise they stayed atop the NL West as long as they did with a sub .500 record.. I dont even care if Webb gets his 2nd Cy Young.. Screw em all..

And I wanna punch Darren Sutton square in the face everytime I see one of his casino commercials..

Yeah that damn Melvin he struck out so many times.
When there was such a consistency of strikeouts through the young players in our lineups . . . and almost no hit-and-run plays and stolen bases, yeah, Melvin did strike out in both planning strategy and developing young talent on offense.

Oh, my goodness, I liked Steve Finley in the field and on the bases. But his usual pose at the plate was the same as Eric Byrnes -- he'd make contact and look straight up to follow the flight of his infield popup.

I loved the justification early in the season for not playing small ball and stealing, the idea that we were a home run team. The worst possible thing Melvin and the organization could possibly buy into. Perhaps they forgot how we won time and time again last year?
