Mar. 13—LAS VEGAS, Nev. — New Mexico sports fans will have a chance to hit a rare basketball-soccer jackpot this weekend in Las Vegas.

All they need to do is find Peter Trevisani.

New Mexico United's owner/CEO will join UNM men's basketball fans at UNLV's Thomas & Mack Center on Friday, rooting on the Lobos in their Mountain West tournament semifinal against Boise State. Trevisani would be in town anyway as United visits Las Vegas Lights FC for a USL Championship contest Saturday night.

But Trevisani is hoping United can capitalize on the large number of New Mexico fans already in Nevada. With that in mind, Trevisani will be handing out vouchers for free tickets to Saturday's 8:30 p.m. soccer match during Friday's basketball game. Trevisani will purchase the tickets from his personal account.

"I'm happy to do it," Trevisani said Thursday. "There are a lot of United fans who are Lobo fans and vice versa. This is chance to support both and hopefully we can all celebrate a repeat Mountain West championship together and fans can come help us win a soccer game. I'm really looking forward to both."

Trevisani is hoping UNM fans will be able to attend Saturday's MWC men's basketball championship at 4 p.m. (Mountain Time) and head from the Thomas & Mack Center to nearby Cashman Field (8.3 miles away) for United's 8:30 p.m. match.

Fans interested in acquiring the complimentary soccer tickets will need to find Trevisani before or during Friday's basketball game. He doesn't intend to be hard to find.

"I'll be on the concourse before the game," he said, "and I'll be sitting with (UNM Athletic Director) Fernando Lovo during the game. I think we'll be pretty easy to find."
