The Unpacking Future Packers Countdown is a countdown of 100 prospects who the Green Bay Packers could select in the 2025 NFL draft.
Since taking over as general manager of the Green Bay Packers in 2018, Brian Gutekunst has drafted 10 wide receivers. Among that group, seven competed in the Senior Bowl.
A Senior Bowl wide receiver Gutekunst could target in the 2025 NFL Draft is Jack Bech. The TCU wide receiver was named the Senior Bowl MVP for his efforts during the game, which included catching the game-winning touchdown. Bech was also named the top wide receiver on the American squad for his efforts at practice throughout the week.
The LSU transfer and former four-star recruit checks in at No. 24 in the Unpacking Future Packers Countdown.
A native of Lousiania, Bech started his career with the Tigers and led the team in receptions (43) during his first season on campus. The following season he caught one touchdown for the Tigers.
In 2023, Bech transferred to TCU and injuries limited him to eight games. This past season, Bech hauled in 62 receptions for 1,034 yards and nine touchdowns.
"Bech saved the season for TCU,' Geoff Mitchell, a reporter for Horned Frog Blitz, said. "He was moved wide to open the season against Stanford because of an injury. Without his increased production, especially in the second half the of the season, the Frogs would have been 6-7, not 9-4."
At 6-2 and 214 pounds, Bech is a big-bodied target with strong hands. On 91 targets this season, Bech had just one drop and finished his collegiate career with just four career drops. The LSU transfer is tough as nails and has no issues making catches in a crowd. He has impressive body control, with the ability to make catches through contact. Bech does a nice job of adjusting to throws that are away from his frame. He does a good job of using his body to box out defenders. According to Pro Football Focus, 45 of his receptions led to a first down.
Bech is a three-level threat. While he's not an overly explosive athlete, he has the buildup speed and size to win vertically. He does a good job of setting up double moves and tracks the ball like a center fielder.
The converted tight end runs his routes with urgency. He has the foot quickness to get in and out of his breaks. He doesn't get bullied off his route. He's versatile, showcasing the ability to line up on the boundary and in the slot.
With his size and strength, Bech can be hard to get down on initial contact for defensive backs. According to PFF, Bech racked up 338 yards after the catch this past season.
"Bech runs clean, crisp routes, regardless of where he lines up," Mitchell said. "His ability to use his body to create leverage and space improved this year, allowing him to move beyond simply a possession receiver."
With his frame and physicality, Bech is a good blocker out on the perimeter. He embraces the physical side of the game and appears to enjoy his blocking responsibilities.
"Bech transferred to TCU from LSU, and we all had visions of him lining up at H-back," Mitchell said. "This is where he spent most of his time, blocking in the SEC. He is an asset, not a liability, in the run game."
The best way to describe the performance of Green Bay's young wide receiver room this past season would be inconsistent. With a young group, there were bound to be growing pains.
Dontayvion Wicks struggled with drops this past season, something that has plagued him since his Virginia days. Wicks creates separation, but that doesn't matter if you can't consistently complete the process.
Jayden Reed started his sophomore season with a bang before cooling off down the stretch. The former second-round pick also got a case of butter fingers.
Romeo Doubs suffered two concussions this past season and also had an isolated incident earlier in the season that caused the Packers to suspend the former Day 3 selection.
Christian Watson suffered a torn ACL during the team's final regular season game and will likely miss the majority of the 2025 campaign.
With his size, strength, and reliable hands, Bech could be a solid addition to Green Bay's wide receiver room. Bech isn't an explosive mover, he's just a smooth receiver that catches everything thrown his way.
"Bech will contribute wherever he is placed," Mitchell said. "This is more than the stereotype of a lunchpail kid who is the first to practice and the last to leave. He wants to see the field and is a quick learner."

7 seconds were on clock when American team lined up for final play that resulted in Jack Bech's walk-off TD. Jack was wearing his brother Tiger's #7 today. Storybook ending. Couldn't have scripted 2025 @seniorbowl any better. #TheDraftStartsInMOBILEpic.twitter.com/u6v5jVGE4D

.@FieldYates had Jack Bech going to the Packers in the 2nd RD of his latest mock draft.

Tough as nails. Zero issues making catches in a crowd. One drop on 91 targets this season.
