Hoopshype has article excerpts in which the identities of unprotected players are leaked.

Washington: Stackhouse, Laettner, Dixon
New York: Houston, Hardaway, Shandon Anderson
New Jersey: Kittles, Mourning

Thoughts? Stackhouse is a good pick if they think he's healthy. He could put up 25+ points per game on an expansion team fairly easily if his body is up to it.

no way, dixon is much more valuable of a pick for the money (and you can only take 1 player per team)

The main shortcoming with Dixon is that he could be gone in two years. The Hornets will still be working under a limited salary cap in the summer of 2006, so there's some advantage to them taking players who either will be around for a while or will free up decent salary when they leave. Neither is true for Dixon.

Still, you could be right anyway, especially given Stackhouse's health questions.

If my count is correct, the Wizzards had to leave one more player available. Lonnie Baxter or Steve Blake are possibilities at $620,000 each.
