Nearly three weeks into the NFL's free agency period, which of the Jacksonville Jaguars' own free agents remain unsigned?
Part of GM James Gladstone's early reshaping of the Jaguars' roster has not only consisted of signing 10 outside free agents, trading Christian Kirk, while also releasing four other players, including Evan Engram. Also included in that process has been the Jaguars' not re-signing any of their own unrestricted free agents.
The only free agent of any kind who may return is restricted free agent Cole Van Lanen, who the Jaguars did tender, although it was reported recently that Van Lanen has visited with Seattle.
So, of the Jaguars' 2025 unrestricted free agent class, which players have already signed elsewhere, and who remains available in free agency? Let's take an updated look at where things now stand.
IOL Brandon Scherff: The Jaguars should still add to the interior offensive line for depth, but I would anticipate that happening in the NFL draft.
LB Caleb Johnson: If there is someone I could see returning, it is Johnson, who has been a key special teams contributor on one of the better units in the NFL. Although one might also add that if Johnson were going to return, it would have happened by now.
QB CJ Beathard: Behind Trevor Lawrence, James Gladstone has brought in two quarterbacks--Nick Mullens and John Wolford--who have experience in similar systems as Liam Coen's.
RB D'Ernest Johnson: Depth is needed here but the draft class is loaded with talent.
TE Josiah Deguara: I think an H-back like presence is valuable in Coen's offense, but Hunter Long and Johnny Mundt can help bring that versatile, blocking-first presence.
