The Philadelphia 76ers continue to play out the string in the final stretch in what has been a miserable 2024-25 season due to a slew of injuries. They took a 133-100 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday night to fall to 1-2 on their 6-game road trip.

After the Sixers fell to the Thunder, they were able to stay in the race for the bottom 6 to keep their top 6 protected pick. Of course, they won't know the fate of the pick until the draft lottery on May 12, but losses like the one on Wednesday will help their cause.

After the loss on the road, here is an updated look at the lottery standings in the league:

March 20 play-in/lottery standings

9. Chicago Bulls 29-40 --GB

10. Miami Heat 29-40 --GB (final play-in spot in the East)

11. Toronto Raptors 24-45 5 GB

12. Brooklyn Nets 23-46 6 GB

13. Philadelphia 76ers 23-46 6 GB (fifth-worst record in the league)

The Sixers are still in a good position to keep their pick. These final 13 games of the season have to be focused on the development of the youngsters, but also on making sure they're in a position to keep their pick. They need the odds to be in their favor as they head into the lottery.

March 20 important games

  • Nets @ Pacers 7 p.m. EDT
  • Raptors @ Warriors 10 p.m. EDT
  • Bulls @ Kings 10 p.m. EDT
