OXFORD — Ole Miss baseball has climbed to its highest ranking yet.

The Rebels (24-7, 8-4 SEC) won a road series 2-1 against Kentucky (8-14, 0-6) over the weekend. Ole Miss is No. 7 in the USA TODAY coaches poll, which is up from No. 10 last week.

Ole Miss was ranked near the bottom of the SEC in preseason polls. Coach Mike Bianco and the Rebels have exceeded expectations. The newest rankings set up a marquee clash next weekend at Swayze Field. Ole Miss will host No. 4 Tennessee (28-4, 9-3) in a three-game series. The first game will be Friday (6:30 p.m., SEC Network+).
