I have a Sony Vaio desktop with Windows XP and an ATI Radeon X300 Card.
2.8 mghz Pentium D processor.

Thinking about upgrading the graphics.

Everything is plugged in correctly and the power is on.

Any suggestions on a new graphics card?

That is an old card, and probably matches well with your cpu.

The problem you will have is that if you put a much faster video card in, your cpu wont be able to feed it fast enough. The cpu and video need to be balanced to some degree.

Also new cards may require power supply connections [and wattage] an older PSU won't have.

The #1 question is why ? What are you planning on doing with it ?

Nothing important really just was thinking about upgrading to keep up with the changes in software. I can just tell that loading images is starting to slow down.

I had the same problems with the CPU and power supply last time I upgraded a card so I think I'll just stick with the X300 until I get another computer.

Thanks
