If Upton hadn't been traded, would Parra have been?

If so, who are the Dbacks better off with?

We beat this to death in another thread. OK, Parra, leading the league in hits, fits the team's 2013 philosophy more appropriately than Upton. And is certainly a better fielding and throwing right fielder.

And Goldy is showing Upton what you do with the #3 spot in the batting order.

And if Kubel gets healthy this season, he will probably be sharing LF with Ross or be traded.

And Pollock will be what he is best suited for -- 4th outfielder.

Actually, we haven't touched the question that if Upton wasn't traded, would Parra have been.

Probably! After averaging 451 plate appearances in his first four Major League (Diamondback) seasons, it would have been difficult to relegate him to 4th outfielder.

Touched and ready to be put to bed. :)

Or... they could have kept Upton and never signed Ross to that silly contract in the first place.

And its not about Upton or Parra, or Upton or Goldschmidt, we could have all those players together.

Compare Upton and Chris Johnson's stats to Prado, Delgado (7+ ERA in AAA), Ahmed (.148 in AA)...

And when to toss in Prado's new contract and the dumb contract we gave Ross its a more expensive team too.

No matter how you slice it this trade is looking absolutely idiotic.

I doubt Parra would have been traded unless a team just blew Kevin Towers away with someone he really liked...:sarcasm: like a lefty reliever.

I think if we had kept Upton and traded Parra, we would still be at or near the top of the NL west right now.

However, what if we had never signed Cody Ross and had Parra and Upton?

I think they would've traded Kubel not Para. which i wouldn't have been to happy with them trading away Kubel. I hope Kubel can return to his form from last year he was underrated and one of my favorite players.

Parra sets the table. Without him, I'm not sure the D-Backs would be as effective this year.
