I envision a middle lineup of these three at some point, maybe next season. At some point you will have to take advantage of Young's power, solo homeruns are almost a waste of his talents IMO.

3. Upton
4. Young
5. Jackson

The future looks bright though.

I think if all the players in the starting 9 were at (or near) the expected potential, the best lineup would be something like:

1. Hudson- Switch hitter, decent speed, good average
2. Byrnes- Good speed, steals bases, ok power
3. Upton- All around 5 tool kinda guy
4. Reynolds- will strike out a lot, but could have a lot of power
5. Young- power, speed, hopefully the average will come
6. Jackson- good average, a lot of doubles
7. Drew- should eventually have a good average to go with good speed
8. Snyder- just concentrate on catching
9. pitcher

Really, they don't seem to have a natural lead off guy, or a clean up guy (though Reynolds may grow into that)...its going to end up being a very versatile lineup full of guys who can hit 20 HRs and steal 20 bases.

Especially since he's not a great on base guy. He got stuck there last year because he's the closest thing we have to a lead off hitter.
